TAKING YOU THROUGH HEAVEN
Heaven, born as Edonya Ward, first took a breath of air on November 7, 1984. She was born and raised in the Harlem, New York and was a burst of energy that started shining at the age of 3. It was in Junior High School where she learned Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Modern Dance. Edonya's father and older sister influenced her to dance. Every weekend her father would play music on his stereo system while she danced the day away.
Dancing was an escape for many reasons. Her motivation is for countless youth who currently are not exposed to dance, in which there are many different varieties, and for those who are less fortunate... It is also her daily struggles, the loss of her mother and last but not least, those people who constantly discourage and doubt Edonya's ever flourishing talents. It was because of her talents that she got her stage name, Heaven. Everywhere she went people said that her dancing was like heaven. After hearing it so many times she finally took the name and made it her own.
After emerging into Heaven and making positive moves such as starting her own company, she continued to face another challenge in life but at this point nothing was going to stop her and her dreams. Bouncing from gig to gig things started to look a little bright but not what she had expected so she pushed harder, soon or later who know what wonderful things would be in stored for Heaven.
Edonya has opened up for known artist from T.I and Alicia Keys to being feature in top videos, working with Jadakiss/Swizz Beats in “Who’s Real” to Juelz Santana/Jim Jones and Webstar in “Dancing on Me” to Cassidy/Bathgate in “Ringling Brothers” and many others.
Currently she is training students young and old in addition to artists such as Harmony, Young Shawn, Saucey and other forthcoming artists. She also conducts her two dance companies that goes by the name of Heavenly Secrets Entertainment, Beg2Dance AND teaches dance lessons two days out of the week.
Heavenly Secrets, also known as HS, is an all female company with different ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds. Their form of dancing is fresh, funky, spunky, live, creative, spicy, entertaining and unique with a futuristic twist. This is
not your ordinary dance company. HS style of dancing is Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, African, Reggae, Pop Locking, House, Modern, etc. They are made up of divine woman who cater to those whom dare to desire the feel of Heaven. Their secret is not a secret but something Heavenly that is not meant to be kept untold. It is something that's beyond this world and unspoken of. They believe in driven minds who strive to succeed at what they do best. Never give up on dreams because dreams will come true with your perseverance. The key to Heavenly Secrets is to maintain discipline, faith, honor, commitment, respect and team work. We are 300!!!! As for the future, Heaven sees herself owning a clothing and accessory line. She wants to continue to successfully run her business where others can learn and benefit from. There are no limits on her many talents that you will see in the near future.
